    A wonderful tour combining sightseeing in the air and hiking among some of Iceland’s most beautiful attractions.


    Day 1:
    Gljúfrabúi – Háifoss – Gjáinn – Geysir – Gullfoss – Þverbrekknamúli

    We start our journey from Gljúfrabúi base. After mounting the Super jeep we head on towards our adventure! Our first destination is Gjáinn, a beautiful oasis in the Þjórsárdalur valley. From there we head out to Iceland´s second highest waterfall Háifoss.
    After a spectacular stop, we drive on to Gullfoss & Geysir where we stop for lunch. After a sightseeing tour of the roaring hot springs and the “Queen” of Icelandic waterfalls, we’ll continue on to our raw mountain hut for the night, Þverbrekknamúli.

    Gljúfrabúi base – Þverbrekknamúli: Driving time 3- 4 hours. Total duration about 8 hours

    Day 2:
    Þverbrekknamúli – Þjófadalir

    After a good night’s rest in our rough mountain hut, we set of on our hiking quest towards Þjófadalir or Thief valley! Legend has it that in the early centuries outlaws where hiding in the valley under the domain of Iceland’s second largest glacier Langjökull.
    Our hiking route takes us through the old lava field Kjalarhraun where we cross a bridge over the river Fúlakvísl (Smelly river). The major part of your hiking route will be the old rout Kjalvegur, a very old national trading route connecting the north and the south. The route was forgotten for about a 100 years until it was rediscovered in the 19th century!

    There will be an optional evening hike available.

    Þverbrekknamúli – Þjófadalir: Distance: 13km (8mi). Walking time: 4- 5 hours. Ascent: 100m (330´).

    Day 3:
    Þjófadalir – Hveravellir – Bakki

    Our last hiking leg is upon us and our destination is a gorgeous hot spring valley Hveravellir (Hot spring fields). After our 12km hike nothing is more fitting than going for a bath in the all-natural hot springs at Hveravellir.
    When our bath is over, our last but totally not least adventure awaits us! The flightseeing tour through the center Highlands of Iceland. The journey is a approximately x 1,5 hour flight towards Bakki airport. This awesome add on is the perfect end of our amazing trip!

    Hike: Þjófadalir – Hveravellir: Distance: 12km (7,5mi). Walking time: 4- 5 hours. Ascent: 100m (330´).
    Flight: Hveravellir – Bakki: approx 1h and 30m

    Expect to arrive at Bakki airport in the late afternoon.
