We pick you up from your accommodation, airport or harbour and take you to one of Iceland best 18 hole courses – Jaðar.
The surrounding and the panoramic view across fjord and mountains is spectacular and you can be sure to no not only play golf but also experiencing the tranquility of Icelandic nature. The course is 18 hole, par 71 and you can select to play 9 or the full 18 holes. Upon arriving at the course your driver will take you to the club house where you will be given a introduction of the course before you tee off at your prearranged tee-time. All golfing equipment can be pre-arranged and rented. Like clubs, trolley and carts.
At the end of your round, whether it is a 9 Hole game or a full 18 holes, the club house staff will contact your driver to arrange for a pickup. Our guide will take you to a drop off of your choosing in the Akureyri area. Refreshment can be bought at the club house and there you also be sure to find number of local golfers to sit down with and talk about the course and its tournaments. The course has over the last 20 year been the home of Arctic Open Golf Tournament, where in spring time players compete in an evening tournament under the midnight sun.
Equipment and golf guide in not included in the tour price but can easily be booked as add-on when you book your tour. You can also arrange to have a local golf guide accompany you on the course. The caddies are all amateur golfers with national handicaps granted by the Icelandic Golf Association. They are part of the Akureyri Golf Club Youth Program and are all fluent in English (and some also in other languages). Being local golfers means they will be able to assist you with anything you need during your golf day tour.
