We start the Silver Circle day by picking you up at your accommodation in Reykjavik in our modified super jeep.
We drive towards Hvalfjörður fjord on our way to Borgarfjörður, where we will visit Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. A vital part of the Silver Circle Tour.
After that, we drive further inland to Hraunfossar and Barnafossar waterfalls, and on through to Húsafell woodlands, where we will make a short stop for lunch (not included).
After Húsafell, we leave the main road and take the highland trail to Iceland’s second largest ice field, Langjökull glacier, were we put our super jeep to the test by driving on the glacier. On our way back to Reykjavík we take the highest mountain road in Iceland, the “cold Valley” or Kaldidalur, witch will lead us back down to Þingvellir national park, one of the most beautiful and historical places in Iceland.
The silver circle is the perfect tour for those who wish to experience Iceland at it’s best.
Good to know before the tour:
A stop will be made where you can purchase lunch
Jeans are not suitable clothing; water proof jacket and shoes and a warm sweater are recommended.
During winter months we are working with very limited daylight hours. This may result in some of the sites being visited in dusk or darkness, or skipped altogether. We will do our best to avoid this, but ask for your understanding should this happen.
