Before the tour you make your way through Iceland’s most popular area, surrounded by sights such as volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls and black beaches.
Prior to your tour, you will meet your pilot at Bakki airport who will explain the flight plan.
Volcanoes, cliffs and islands
As you take off in one of our aircrafts you will see a black beach, Landeyjafjara, reaching as far west and east as the eye can see. In just a few minutes the aircraft is over the open sea, flying towards the Vestmannaeyjar islands. With a good eye you might be able to see isolated farms and the birdlife on islands around Heimaey, the main island. Maybe not so believable at first, but a town of around 4,300 people is located on Heimaey. Surrounded by mountains, volcanoes, cliffs and islands, the public of Vestmannaeyjar has a history of fishing which plays a big part of the culture of Iceland. In the distance you see Surtsey, an island which emerged out of the ocean during a volcanic eruption under sea level.
You will have about 6,5 hours to spent on the island before return flight from Vestmannaeyjr airport.
After you land back in Bakki Airport, you will be able to chat and get information from the pilot and receptionist about the sights you saw and enjoy the rest of your day after a short, but unique tour.
