In Tryggvagata you will find The Museum of Photography, or as we Icelanders say Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur. In there you can browse around 5 million photographs taken from the years 1870 – 2002 by both professional and amateur photographers. Or as we call it: Iceland in pictures.

In the museum you can catch various exhibitions and the schedule changes regularly. There is no entrance fee and the museum is open every single day. So, if you feel the need to study Iceland in pictures, this is the place to be.

For more information about the museum be sure to check out it’s website.
